Updating our own company’s website

When you are tasked with updating your own company’s website, you realize that you and your own team are the toughest clients. Our website was outdated and needed to better reflect what we do and show our culture. It was to be 80% a recruitment tool, and 20% to explain what we do.

We wanted to spotlight our highly skilled and personable teammates with short video interviews about what it is like to work at WTMAP.

I designed the site together with a UX designer, copywriter and videographer. We collected information from our recruitment team so that we could make sure the new site worked seamlessly with the current recruitment tools. We set up video shoots to capture the stories of our teammates. Beyond web design, I also enjoyed the opportunity to create animations for our case studies. We created a working prototype so we could meticulously share our ideas with the development team – including annotations, animation/transition examples and explanations, a detailed design guide and responsive layouts.
